The Babadağ cable car is one of the easiest ways to see Ölüdeniz from above. It carries visitors from the foot of the mountain, just above the beach, up to the famous paragliding launch sites, with the Blue Lagoon spread out below. Prices and opening hours change with the seasons, so here is what you need to know before you go. All prices and hours below are taken from the official Babadağ Teleferik website as published in November 2026.

Babadağ Cable Car Ticket Prices for 2026

  • Return ticket: 950 TL
  • Students: 700 TL (a student card is required)
  • Guests with special needs: 700 TL (a valid card is required)
  • Children aged 7 and under: free

What your ticket includes

One return ticket covers every level that is open on the day, including the chairlifts above 1700 m. You can stop at the 1200 m station, explore, and then continue upwards on the same ticket. The ride to 1700 m takes around 20 minutes, according to this Fethiye Times guide to the cable car. Tickets are personal, valid only on the day you buy them, and must be kept until you are back at the main station, as you scan them at each turnstile. Children aged 7 and under cannot use the chairlifts, while those aged 8 to 12 can if they are with an adult.

Weather and refunds

Here is a detail many visitors miss. If strong wind or bad weather closes the upper stations, your ticket is only valid up to 1200 m and is not refunded. Trips cancelled entirely because of wind, extreme cold or power cuts are refunded. On a windy day, ask at the ticket desk which levels are open before you pay.

Planning Your Visit

  • Getting there: The main station sits on Ölüdeniz Caddesi, the road between the beach and Ovacık. The Fethiye to Ölüdeniz dolmuş stops right outside, and you can check times on the official Muğla public transport timetable. There is also a car park nearby.
  • Best time of day: Late afternoon and early evening bring softer light, paragliders in the sky and spectacular sunsets. It is much cooler at the top than on the beach, so bring a jacket, as GoTürkiye also advises.
  • Combining it with paragliding: Tandem flights are booked separately with a flight operator, not through the cable car. Our Ölüdeniz paragliding guide explains what to check before you book.

Staying close to the station makes it easy to time your visit for the clearest skies or the best sunset. Sejo Vista is a small, adults only Ölüdeniz hotel directly opposite the Babadağ cable car station, 600 metres from the beach.
